A 18-year-old south suburban man died hours after being shot in the West Chatham neighborhood early Saturday on the South Side.

Travell Montgomery was on a porch in the 8800 block of South Princeton at 1:30 a.m. when three gunmen walked up and opened fire, shooting him in the head, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Montgomery was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died at 7:55 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 16800 block of Western Avenue in Hazel Crest.
