A data visualization project from Transitized and Shaun Jacobsen uses data provided by the city of Chicago to map out buildings by the year they were built. Users can also display buildings by year, which leads to this oddly hypnotic GIF:

Tip: Clicking buildings at the closest zoom layer is a little wonky, so zoom out a bit.
