Spiaggia's getting a makeover

Chicago magazine is reporting that fine dining and presidential favorite Spiaggia Restaurant is closed for renovations. And, according to the magazine, when the restaurant returns the white tablecloths will be a thing of the past. Like other fine-dining establishments, the award-winning Spiaggia is taking the atmospher (NOTt the ingredients) down a notch because that’s what diners seem to prefer these days. When it reopens April 1, it will be “renovated, refreshed, reimagined,” according to Spiaggia’s website.

If you don’t think you can make it until the spring reopening without dining on the restaurant’s top-notch food, select items from its menu will be available at its little sister, Cafe Spiaggia.
