(DOWNERS GROVE) All trains on the Metra BNSF line are back on the move after police activity briefly halted trains near west suburban Downers Grove.

Officials stopped train traffic in the area just before 5 p.m. while responding to a report of “a suicidal person” near the Downers Grove Main Street station, Metra spokeswoman Meg Reile said.

Metra officials had initially said a train hit a pedestrian, but later learned that was not the case.

No one was hurt, and trains are moving again as of 5:15 p.m. with delays between 10 and 25 minutes, according to Metra.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
