Man shot in Heart of Chicago

A 21-year-old man was shot in the hip late Sunday afternoon in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood on the Lower West Side.

About 5:30 p.m., the shooting happened in the 2000 block of West Cullerton, police said.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, police said.

The victim, a documented gang member with a felony conviction, was not cooperating with detectives, police said.
