A person was killed and four others were injured in a crash Friday evening in southwest suburban Palos Park.

Emergency crews responded at 6:10 p.m. to the four-vehicle pileup in the 12500 block of South La Grange Road, according to Palos Park Police Chief Joe Miller.

One person was dead at the scene. Four people were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights. Two of them were listed in serious condition, Miller said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the fatality as Christian Luna, 17, of the 2400 block of South California in Chicago.

La Grange Road was shut down between 123rd and 131st streets until about midnight as authorities investigated the cause of the crash.
