A Chicago man was killed in a crash Sunday in southwest suburban Bedford Park.

James L. Koffend, 74, was involved in a collision about 8:40 p.m. at West 71st Street and South Sayre Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was pronounced dead at 9:20 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said. He lived in Clearing.

Autopsy results released Monday found Koffend died from multiple injuries sustained in the crash, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled an accident.

Bedford Park police didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
