Four boys were shot as they were standing outside in the Austin neighborhood Monday night.

About 8:52 p.m., the four — ages 12, 14, 15 and 16 — were standing near the corner of Washington and Waller when another male walked up and opened fire, police said.

The 12-year-old and 16-year-old were both shot in the abdomen and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

The 14-year-old was also shot in the abdomen, while the 15-year-old was shot in the right leg, police said. They were both taken to Stroger Hospital.

Police said the conditions of all four had stabilized late Monday.
