A man was hospitalized after being shot in the leg by someone who came up to him around 4:20 p.m. Saturday as he was walking in the 1400 block of West 99th Street in Longwood Manor on the South Side.

The police said he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition.
