A man was shot and wounded early Friday in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side.

The 29-year-old was walking on a sidewalk about 2:05 a.m. in the first block of East Garfield Boulevard when two males approached him and opened fire, Chicago Police said.

The man was shot in his foot and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition had stabilized, police said.
