Three Woodstock men were dead and a fourth was in serious condition after an SUV crashed into a tree early Sunday in unincorporated McHenry County.

At 3:32 a.m., the four were driving a 1994 Jeep Cherokee in the 3100 block of Lily Pond Road in unincorporated Woodstock, according to the McHenry County sheriff’s and coroner’s offices. After passing McConnell Road, the Jeep veered off-path and struck a tree.

The driver, 20-year-old Ryan K. Fleming, and two passengers, 20-year-old Quinlan M. Hartney and 21-year-old Daisen T. Hollands, were pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. They all died from blunt force trauma.

The sole survivor, a 20-year-old, was taken to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital and later transferred to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was listed in serious condition, authorities said.

The Jeep didn’t have airbags installed, and investigators believe none of the occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s Major Crash Investigators Unit was investigating.
