An 18-year-old woman was shot and critically wounded Sunday evening in the Bridgeport neighborhood on the South Side.

At 6:44 p.m, the woman and an 18-year-old man were standing on the front porch of a home in the 1200 block of West 33rd Street when another male fired shots from a gangway, according to Chicago Police.

The woman suffered multiple gunshot wounds to her body and a graze wound to her head, police said. She was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

No one was in custody as Area Central detectives investigated the shooting.

CPD Supt. Eddie Johnson lives about a block from where the shooting happened. Police wouldn’t comment on whether Johnson or his security detail were at his home at the time of the shooting.
