Nashville, TN * 12:00 PM – Mrs. Obama will deliver remarks at a Democratic National Committee event in Nashville covered by a print pooler.

Pittsburgh, PA * 3:30 PM – First Lady Michelle Obama will arrive in Pittsburgh where she will be greeted by servicemembers and their families from the 911th Airlift Wing of the Air Force Reserve Command and the 171st Air Refueling Wing – Pennsylvania Air National Guard’s largest unit. Included in this group will be Senior Airman Domenic Mash, his wife Katlyn and their infant daughter Savannah. Senior Airman Mash enlisted in the U.S. Air Force Reserve in 2008, deployed to Iraq in 2009 and Afghanistan in 2011 where he received an Air Force Achievement Medal for his efforts. Mrs. Obama and Dr. Biden just celebrated the one year anniversary of Joining Forces, their initiative to honor, recognize and serve veterans and military families. Through the anniversary tour, Mrs. Obama and Dr. Biden announced a major effort by 150 nursing organizations and 500 nursing schools to educate America’s 3 million nurses on providing care for veterans and military families. Mrs. Obama also announced the 50,000th veteran to be hired through Joining Forces efforts highlighting the fact that the private sector is eager to hire veterans and military families because of the unique skill set that they bring to their companies.
