WASHINGTON – There is a for-sale sign on the stately residence in DuPont Circle that was once home to convicted felons former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., D-Ill., and his now former wife, Sandi, once a Chicago alderman.

The asking price for the federal style red stone rowhouse on 2034 O Street is $2.49 million. The home has been on and off the market since 2012, according to Zillow sales records which do not show any ownership changes through the years. The real estate site Redfin, citing public records, states the home was last sold on Nov. 18, 1998 for $575,000.

It’s not known who controls the sale and use of the home following the couple’s messy divorce or if either of them use the residence. A picture in the Zillow listing shows women’s clothes in a closet.

The couple both pleaded guilty on Feb. 20, 2013 to looting Rep. Jackson’ congressional campaign fund and using the money for personal spending sprees. The ex-congressman and former South Side 7th Ward alderman each have served their prison terms.

The for-sale sign lists Long & Foster and Christie’s as the agents.
