President Obama believes Derrick Rose can still be a top 10 point guard

Despite the ups and downs, President Barack Obama isn’t giving up on Derrick Rose.

In an interview with Bill Simmons for GQ, the leader of the free world said he believes Rose can still be a great player.

“I’ve not given up on him,” Obama said. “Sadly, I think it’s hard to imagine, after that many injuries, him getting back to his MVP-season performance. But he can still be a top-ten point guard.”

When asked which Chicago athlete, Rose or Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, is more untradeable, Obama said he thinks Rose has more upside.

“Remember, Rose is still awfully young,” Obama said.

An ardent Chicago sports fan and hoops junike, Obama attended the Bulls’ season-opening win over the Cavs on Oct. 27.

During the game, Obama said he was optimistic about the 2016-2016 season.

Rose was in the midst of one of his best performances of the season last night against Indiana before spraining his ankle during the fourth quarter. He left the game and did not return.

The veteran point guard had 23 points on 9-of-18 shooting in the Bulls’ 96-95 victory over the Pacers.
