Starlin Castro was a cornerstone of Chicago’s lineup for much of the past six seasons, so it’s odd seeing the former Cub in pinstripes.
Castro was traded to New York in December in a deal that brought pitcher Adam Warren to Chicago and made room for infielder Ben Zobrist.
He tried on his new Yankees digs Saturday for the first time.
Castro, a three-time All-Star, is expected to take over duties at second base and serve as the primary backup at shortstop and third base in the Bronx.
The 25-year-old has zero MLB experience at third, but he was taking pointers from Alex Rodriquez at Yankees camp this week, according to an ESPN report.
