Burger King is offering holiday travelers a consolation for delayed flights: free Impossible Whoppers.

Now through Dec. 30, since hurried travelers can’t have it their way, the fast-food chain wants them to “Delay Your Way.”

Unlike last year’s viral Whopper Detour promotion, to land this deal you’ll need to be at an airport, at least for the first leg of the trip, to get the free sandwich.

“We know that holiday travel can be extremely rough, and there is nothing worse than all of those uncontrollable flight delays,” Chris Finazzo, Burger King’s president for North America, said in a statement. “We wanted to surprise and delight our guests by offering those with delayed flights across the country a free Impossible Whopper.”

The plant-based burger developed by Silicon Valley-based Impossible Foods launched nationwide in August.

Here’s how the promotion works: Through Dec. 30, travelers at any airport in the U.S. can download the BK app and enter their delayed flight information on the “Delay Your Way” screen. Once the flight information is entered, app users will automatically receive a coupon for a free Impossible Whopper to redeem at participating Burger King restaurants through Jan. 6.

The chain also released a short YouTube video explaining how the promotion works.

The promotion is only for U.S. domestic flights before departure, and location services must be enabled, according to the promotion terms and conditions. App registration also is required.

Not all restaurants accept digital coupons and the coupon is not valid in Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

With last year’s Whopper Detour campaign, Burger King netted 1.5 million downloads of its app, company officials said in February. The campaign offered penny Whoppers for app users near a McDonald’s restaurant and then detoured them to a Burger King.
