Man shot to death in Little Village

A man was killed in a shooting Sunday in Little Village on the Southwest Side.

He was shot about 2:55 a.m. in the 3200 block of West Cermak Road, according to Chicago police.

Jose Jesus Hernandez, 19, was dropped off at Mount Sinai Hospital with gunshot wounds to his right cheek and the right side of his abdomen, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. Hernandez, who lived in Lawndale, was pronounced dead at 3:13 a.m.

Autopsy results found Hernandez died from his gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

Police said witnesses have been uncooperative with investigators and further details about the shooting were not immediately known.

No one is in custody as Area Four detectives investigate.
