A man from west suburban Wheaton was ordered held on $150,000 bail after he was charged with child abduction, authorities said.

Javier F. Lopez, 47, was charged with child abduction after police learned he tried to lure several children into his home, according to a statement from Wheaton police.

Police received a complaint on March 10 that a suspicious person was approaching children in the 2000 block of West Roosevelt, police said.

Lopez was ordered held on $150,000 bail, police announced Monday. His next court date was not immediately known.
