Illinois State added the commitment of another talented area prospect, Richards dual-threat quarterback Hasan Muhammad-Rogers.

“I gave Coach Kane Keirnan a call before the game on Friday to commit,” Muhammad-Rogers said. “The whole staff was really excited when I told them.”

The signal caller had offers from Northern Iowa, North Dakota, Indiana State and Illinois State.

“They said that I was the total package,” Muhammad-Rogers said, “that I have the arm, the speed and the leadership they are looking for.”

Plus, Muhammad-Rogers was even more impressed after a recent visit by what ISU had to offer.

“It’s great in Bloomington, the talent they are bringing in, the coaching staff, and the fan base is crazy,” Muhammad-Rogers said. “And I liked them because they saw what I had to offer and offered first.”

Muhammad-Rogers joins Scout.com three-star defensive back Jamal Brown from Phillips, who recently flipped his commitment from Western Michigan and fellow Phillips standout, quarterback Dewayne Collins as recent commitments to the Redbirds.

The 5-11, 175-pound quarterback’s parents were very supportive of his decision.

“My mom was excited and my dad supported me and gave me the nod for the commit,” Muhammad-Rogers said.
