Man shot in Englewood

A man was shot Friday evening in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The 35-year-old man was shot in the ankle about 6:25 p.m. in the 5700 block of South Sangamon, said police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney, citing preliminary information.

He took himself to Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center, Sweeney said. The man’s condition was not immediately known.
