Man shot in South Shore

A 23-year-old man was shot in the South Shore neighborhood Saturday evening.

The man was shot about 5:20 p.m. in the 7400 block of South Colfax, police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said. The man told police that he stepped outside of his home, heard gunfire and when he walked back inside he realized he was shot in the abdomen, Sweeney said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, Sweeney said.
