A man was shot Monday afternoon in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The 19-year-old was in the 3000 block of West Washington about 1:30 p.m. when he was shot in the leg, police said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition had stabilized, police said.

A police source said the man is on parole for a weapons violation.
