Just when all things appeared bleak for the Detroit Lions, they fought for a much needed victory Sunday against the Bears in an overtime battle, 37-34.

It took everything Detroit had to earn its first win of the season, including a 400-yard, four touchdown performance from quarterback Matthew Stafford. The Lions offense had its way with a Chicago defense that had been improving in the weeks prior. Stafford received little pressure as he sat in the pocket and picked away at the Bears secondary.

Calvin Johnson picked an ample time to revive his decaying career. Many people were starting to doubt if he’d be able to produce a game-changing type performance at this point in his career. Megatron finished the day with 166 yards receiving on six catches with a touchdown.

Despite the Bears having double the amount of total season wins than the Lions, ESPN ranked Detroit one spot higher than its division foe in Week 7 power rankings.

While it makes sense to consider a team higher than the one its previously beaten, but it doesn’t quite feel like Detroit is the No. 24 team in the league.

The Lions produce one of the most dysfunctional offenses in the NFL, despite having some proven weapons. As proven by its record, if the run game doesn’t get going, the team is very easy to predict.
