A man was shot and killed while riding in a vehicle in the South Side Englewood neighborhood Monday afternoon, police said.

Keith Stokes, 24, was riding in a vehicle about 1:50 p.m. in the 5700 block of South Morgan when another vehicle approached and someone inside started shooting, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He then drove himself to 56th and May streets after being shot multiple times, police said.

Stokes was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:07 p.m., police and the medical examiner’s office said.

Stokes, of the 6200 block of South Campbell, was a documented gang member, authorities said.
