Turkey of the Week: A white tom to come?

Cole Mroczkowski is so good at calling in turkeys that he has a list to help this spring. He has already called in one for Rich Rudolf.

Mroczkowski, of Mokena, is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, studying in natural resources with a major in forestry with a double minor in wildlife and soil.

Prepping for calling in turkeys for others has had a bonus: He found a big half white tom.

“That is my dream bird,” he said. “I am going for him. I might miss a class or two for him.”

TOTW, the celebration of turkey hunting stories around Chicago outdoors, appears Wednesdays on the Sun-Times outdoors page as warranted.
