Yet another interpretation of the life of Maria Callas — and her famous love affair with Aristotle Onassis — is coming back to the big screen with Noomi Rapace tapped to play the iconic diva.

The actress — known for roles in films like “Prometheus,” “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows,” and James Gandolfini’s final film, “The Drop” — will topline the “Callas” movie.

Niki Caro (“McFarland USA,” “Whale Rider,” “North Country”) will direct the film, based on her own screenplay that she adapted from Alfonso Signorini’s biography, “Too Proud, Too Fragile.”

The film will focus primarily on the two-decade, extremely passionate romance between the singer and the Greek shipping tycoon, who later married widowed former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy. Callas is widely recognized as one of the most important opera legends of the 20th Century — equally famous for her fiery temper and over-the-top personality.
