A passenger was critically injured after jumping from a moving vehicle Sunday afternoon near north suburban Antioch.

About 1:30 p.m., the person opened the door and jumped from the front passenger seat of a Chevrolet Tahoe heading north on North Lake Avenue near Route 173 in unincorporated Antioch, according to the Lake County sheriff’s office.

The person, a male whose age wasn’t available, suffered extensive injuries and had to be airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, police said. He was listed in critical condition.

The driver was not hurt, and additional details were not released.
