Bond was set at $1 million Sunday for a man accused of a fatal shooting last weekend in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Danee Brewer, 23, faces first-degree murder charges for the Jan. 16 attack in a parking lot in the 4500 block of South Cicero, Chicago Police announced Saturday.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired about 11:45 a.m. found 27-year-old Quante Little with a gunshot wound to the right side of his torso, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Little was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died about an hour later, authorities said. He lived in the 4500 block of South Lavergne.

Police said a weapon was recovered at the scene.

Brewer, of the 10400 block of South Bell Avenue, was ordered held on a $1 million bond at a Sunday hearing, according to Cook County Circuit Court records. He is due in court again Monday.
