Man robs bank in New Lenox

A man robbed a bank Wednesday afternoon in southwest suburban New Lenox.

At 12:18 p.m., the FBI was called to a non-takeover robbery at BMO Harris branch located at 110 W. Maple St. in New Lenox, according to the FBI.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-40s, about 5-foot-9 and wearing a grey sweatshirt.

In the Chicago area, there have been 161 bank robberies so far this year, which is up from 144 bank robberies in 2015.
