EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Eddie Goldman’s return from a high ankle sprain lasted one game.
The Bears’ nose tackle will be inactive for Sunday’s game against the Giants after re-aggravating his high ankle sprain against the Buccaneers.
Other inactive Bears include defensive end Mitch Unrein and right tackle Bobby Massie, who did not make the trip, as well as cornerback Deiondre Hall, cornerback DeAndre Houston-Carson, linebacker John Timu and tight end Daniel Brown.
The Bears have few options to replace Goldman. Will Sutton, the starter during Goldman’s absence — from Week 3 to Week 9 — was placed on injured reserve theis week. The Bears signed C.J. Wilson and Jimmy Staten; both are active.
Earlier this week, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio agreed with the assessment the Bears were in a quandary at the position.
“It’s a quandary,” he said. “I kind of know what the word means. It’s a quandary.”
