A man died Saturday, four days after a 4-vehicle crash, in the north suburban village of Golf.

At 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Thomas Sheehy, 76, was driving a vehicle eastbound on Golf Road when it spun across into the other lane and struck two other vehicles on Golf Road just east of Overlook Drive, according to Golf police. His vehicle was then hit by an additional vehicle.

Sheehy was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Lutheran General Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy determined his cause of death to be from multiple injuries from a motor vehicle accident. He lived in the 2400 block of Pick Drive in Glenview.

Two adults in a Toyota Highlander, which was hit during the crash, were taken to Skokie Hospital and were in fair condition, police said. There were five people in the car, including three adults and two children between the ages of 1 and 3 years old.

The crash is still under investigation, police said. Additional information about the crash was not immediately available.
