A 21-year-old man was shot to death Tuesday morning in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

Rashawn Gooden Jr. was exiting a business in the 4900 block of West Division at 9:05 a.m. when several shots were fired and he was struck multiple times in the back, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Gooden, of the 4800 block of West Augusta Boulevard, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:38 a.m., according to police and the medical examiner’s office.

A police source said the victim is a documented gang member.
