Traffic citations are pending against a driver who crashed into a police car during a traffic stop Saturday morning in the Loop Saturday.

The officers, who weren’t hurt, were trying to stop a vehicle at State and Randolph just before 7:30 a.m. when it crashed into their police car and then a street planter, according to the police.

The driver, a 44-year-old man, was taken into custody and then to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for evaluation, the police said.
