Chicago Police officers shot two pit bulls, one fatally, Sunday afternoon in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.
Officers responded about 1:30 p.m. to a call of two “vicious” dogs described as pit bulls attacking people in the 7000 block of South Aberdeen, police said.
An officer shot and wounded one of the dogs as the other one ran away, police said. The city’s animal control office took custody of the injured dog.
Police found the second dog in the 7000 block of South Carpenter where it was fatally shot, police said.
