A 30-year-old man has been charged with robbing a man at knifepoint last week in northwest suburban Elgin.

Jawann C. Lindsey was charged with armed robbery and unlawful use of a credit card, both felonies, according to Elgin police.

About 11:30 p.m. April 19, a man was walking near Walnut and Wilcox avenues and, as he was entering his vehicle, he was approached by a man he didn’t know, police said.

The man, later identified as Lindsey, pulled out a knife and demanded money from the victim, police said. He gave the robber his wallet, which included several IDs and credit cards. The robber left the scene in a vehicle.

The victim was not injured, police said.

Lindsey, of the 400 block of Villa Street in Elgin, was identified as the robber and arrested about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday. He was scheduled to appear in bond court Thursday.
