Eight people were injured in a Back of the Yards neighborhood crash Sunday evening on the South Side.

The three-vehicle crash happened about 6:15 p.m. in the 5100 block of South Ashland, according to Chicago Police.

Three people were taken to Holy Cross Hospital, three to St. Bernard Hospital and two to the University of Chicago Medical Center. They ranged in age from 6 to 44, and all their injuries were considered minor, police said.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but citations were pending Sunday night against one of the drivers involved, police said.
