Trains are resuming normal service on the CTA Yellow Line after a small fire near the tracks forced service to be suspended Wednesday afternoon.

The small fire near the tracks at Niles Center Road in Skokie, between the Dempster and Oakton stations, was quickly extinguished, CTA spokesman Jeff Tolman said.

No injuries were reported, he said.

Service was suspended about 1:13 p.m., but was resuming as of 2:30 p.m., according to a CTA alert.
