Lane closures on West Belmont in the North Side Roscoe Village neighborhood began Monday for sewer reconstruction.

Traffic on West Belmont near Western Avenue is be reduced to one lane in each direction Monday and Tuesday, according to the Chicago Department of Transportation.

Westbound Belmont traffic will also be detoured for three to five days starting Wednesday, affecting the westbound CTA bus stops in the area, CDOT said. Traffic will be detoured north on Western to Roscoe and south on Campbell back to Belmont.

The Western Avenue reconstruction project is on schedule to reopen a second lane in the fall, CDOT said.
