A person was critically injured early Monday when a van crashed into a building in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Paramedics were called shortly after 3 a.m. to the crash at Senor Pan Cafe, 2615 W. North Ave., according to Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Walter Schroeder.

One person was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Stroger Hospital, Schroeder said.

The city’s Department of Buildings was called to the scene to evaluate the cafe.
