The Cubs designated pitcher Edwin Jackson for assignment on July 19, and the Atlanta Braves signed him in August.
Jackson returned to Wrigley Field on Thursday, where he’s given up seven runs in 14 innings with the Cubs. The former Cubs pitcher took the mound on Saturday and it didn’t take long for Jackson’s former teammates to welcome him back.
In the eighth inning, Jackson allowed back-to-back home runs to Miguel Montero and Jorge Soler to give the Cubs a 9-7 lead.
