The 2015 MLB season nearly ended in storybook fashion for the Cubs, but the team is hoping that the centennial anniversary of Wrigley Field will provide enough magic to get the team over the World Series hump in 2016.
To hone in on the good mojo of a rare hundred-year feat, the Cubs introduced the patch that will be worn on their 2016 jerseys Thursday.

The North Siders played in five ballparks before moving to its current home in 1916. Weeghman Park, which was built on the grounds of a seminary, was renamed Cubs Park before becoming Wrigley Field in 1926. The first major league game at the ballpark took place April 23, 1914.
Babe Ruth’s “called shot,” when he allegedly pointed to a bleacher location during Game 3 of the 1932 World Series before taking the next pitch for a homer happened at Wrigley.
