Rod Blagojevich’s recent failed attempt to have his 14-year sentence scrapped for a shorter period means he is scheduled to remain in federal prison until May 2024 — almost 1,000 miles away from his family. There was a time when the disgraced former governor likely would have been sent to a minimum-security prison camp in Oxford, Wisconsin, dubbed “Club Fed” and known for comfortably housing Illinois political crooks just a short drive away.
