A 42-year-old woman was shot in the chest late Sunday in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

About 10:50 p.m., she was in a house in the 1800 block of South Trumbull when a bullet came through the window and struck her in the chest, according to Chicago Police.

She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition stabilized, police said.
