2 shot in Little Village

Two people were shot in the Little Village neighborhood Sunday morning on the Southwest Side.

A 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were sitting outside at 4:28 a.m. in the 2600 block of South Sawyer Avenue when a male approached and began shooting, according to Chicago Police. Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.

The woman was shot in the neck and in critical condition, police said. The man was shot twice in the back and in good condition.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
