A 16-year-old boy was shot Thursday night in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

About 8:09 p.m., the boy was outside in the 500 block of North Central when a van drove up and suspects fired shots, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police.

He was shot in the buttocks and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
