Bond was set at $25,000 for man charged with burglary after he was involved in a rollover crash early Wednesday in northwest suburban North Barrington.
Ryan O’Toole, 21, of Ingleside, was charged with residential burglary, two counts of burglary to a motor vehicle and theft — all felonies, according to the Lake County sheriff’s office. His bond was set at $25,000 at a hearing Wednesday afternoon.
Officers were called to a report of a single-vehicle crash just after 1 a.m. in the area of Route 59 and Miller Road, according to police. When officers arrived, they found the driver had already left the scene of the crash.
The driver, identified as O’Toole, was found when a 911 caller reported a suspicious person in the woods near the 200 block of North Route 59, police said. Officers responded with a police dog and O’Toole came out of the woods and was taken into custody.
Police said O’Toole was found in possession items taken in a burglary 200 block of Biltmore Drive in North Barrington. He was also charged with a number of traffic-related offenses related and leaving the scene of the crash.
O’Toole was expected to return to court Jan. 24.
