Man shot in hand in Austin

A man was wounded in an Austin neighborhood shooting Friday evening on the West Side.

The 22-year-old was walking at 6:53 p.m. in the 1100 block of North Mason when another male walked up, pulled out a handgun and shot him in the hand, according to Chicago Police.

The victim was taken in good condition to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, police said.
