A 29-year-old man was seriously injured in a shooting Sunday morning in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

At 7:34 a.m., he was standing near the street in the 6200 block of South Seeley when a 19- to 23-year-old man approached and opened fire, according to Chicago Police. The shooter then ran away.

The victim was shot twice and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said. He was in serious condition.
