A man was shot to death Wednesday night in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side.

Officers responding to a call of a person shot about 7 p.m. found 22-year-old Anthony Tripp with gunshot wounds to his head and chest in the 4800 block of South Michigan, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Tripp, who lived about a block away, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:43 p.m., authorities said.

Area Central detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
